In the Kitchen With Mama Moralle [Introduction]
Syokness tak the title? Yeszzzzzzzzzz... Every friday, all of you will be with mama moralle in my humble kitchen.. Afterall its the weekends kan, so for those who will be staying home over the weekends, why not entertain your loved ones with your cooking which you have learned from mama moralle's kitchen right? Ooooooooooo syok syok.... Not only that, mama moralle will try my very best to share with uols some petua-petua masak memasak that I got from a trusted and reliable source.. hehe.
But today there will be no recipe, no pinch of salt or sprinkle of sugar ya... (pandai aje si nad ni) Today mama just want uols to get to know me better, where I learn to cook and why I love cooking.
I started cooking in my early 20’s. Though mama ni consider macam very sociable, mama pun very degil jugak, but my passion for cooking will forever be burning. Cheywahhhhhh. Almost everyday I will pressure my mom to teach me how to cook. My first dish that I cook was Asam Pedas Ikan Tenggiri. Kerana tergila-gila nak belajar to cook, sampai kenek periuk panas and until today the scar is still there on my right hand...
My first ever Asam pedas cooked turn out to be 'well' indeed! “Maknyer, kenapa asam pedas ni cair, asal tawar?” "Ohhh tanyer lah anak awak tu, sibuk nak tolong, tapi bukan tolong, dia yg masak, saya duduk jadi mandur jer!"
And as a father yg sangat-sangat menghargai masakan anaknye yg bongsu ini.. “Oooo, hrmmm sedap jugak lah, masih boleh di makan..”, comment dari seorang ayah yg begitu jujur and that gave me more semangat to prepare a better dish next time. Asam Pedas especially.
So as time goes by, I became much more confident in cooking Asam Pedas ikan tenggiri, not only that, banyak lagi dishes that my late mom had taught me. Sambal tumis ikan bilis, kari ayam, ayam kicap, lemak daging and etc, etc, etc.
Memang it's true masak-memasak ni not all yang suka, cause its leceh lah kan, the rempah-ratus and all, but then, once you know how to cook and that someone you cooked for memuji masakan you, you will feel really great, seperti di awang-awangan. And for sure you will be motivated to try out other dishes, new recipes, for your loved ones.
Seperti kata pepatah, walau jauh mana pun kite belajar masak-memasak ni, if tak der kesungguhan, you will not achieve kepuasan tu and it takes a great interest to love to cook.
Ever heard the old saying, “masak-memasak ni tengok air tangan orang yang masak jugak, kalau tangan tu memang pandai masak, mesti sedap, kalau tak pandai, macam maner pun tak sedap, walaupun cukup rencah.” Ini aderlah kata orang tua-tua, bukan kata mama moralle yer. Kata mama moralle pulak, semua masak pun mesti sedap lah. Yang penting nawaitu. Betul tak?
Sebelum mama end my ceramah yang tak seberape ni, mama nak share satu petua yang to me is very, very important for everyone to know and make it a habit from today onwards..
Ok that's about it for today, see uols in my next entry with yummylicious recipes okay, be it traditional or stylo mylo dishes! To those yang need any advice or nak tanyer apape sekalipun dengan mama related to cooking, you may want to leave a comment.. Next week, insya`Allah mama jawab okaysss?
HAPPY WEEKENDS TO ALL! STAY VOGUE ALWAYS!

Welcome onboard Vogue-u-ers!
A very big thank you to all those who have visited and left a note, what not to those who was truly a dear, showing your support right from the beginning. On behalf of Vogue-u, a very-big-Barney-group hug from us to all of you. [Awwwwwwww.]
As you can see, the blog is like a half boiled egg. T_T
There is still a lot to be done here [technically] but due to our personal commitments and stuffs like that, we decided to take things one step at a time.
Some of you might be still wondering what this blog is all about. Well, let's just say we blog about everything under the tree, the sky and the sun. O Lord, shine on us!
Anyway, here's a quick guide to what's about to happen. [No not some dramas eh.]
They're six of us right? Right? So each of us will pick a day in a week [which we already did] to blog about something. But Nadh, there are seven days in a week! What happened to the 7th day? Well, Sundays are loved. That's why it's called Sunday, no? :)
Tomorrow, [yes I know, we all know! It's Friday!] Mama Moralle will be sharing with you how to pinch some salt here and sprinkle some sugar there. Well, not exactly, but you know what I'm trying to say, right?
AND!
Jeng jeng jeng.
You'll find out after 2pm tomorrow, yeah? :)
Stay vogue-ness yaw.

[Jaiho!]
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
And of course along the way, you will make virtual friends or for some, virtual lovers and how many times have you heard stories of internet love blossoming into reality marriages? Such news is no longer uncommon. Yes, and not forgetting the not so happy ending to some. But for now, let's focus on happy thoughts...
Anyways, the world of blogging had made us, 6 individuals paths, crossed into what once was a virtual connection either as faithful commentators or just a silent reader, into a face to a name and later a reality friendship. And whilst all these 6 individual came from different lifestyle, different generation, different status and different backgrounds, we all came together with one common interest – sharing our love to blogging with each of our passion.
And who would expect that 6 individuals so far had came together in several occasions – became hosts to other bloggers that visited this little red dot and even manage to do our maiden all-day girls trip. Although some instances that we may not be able to have all of us in an activity, the power of MMS and emails does the magic.
So when the idea sprung to have a shared blog between us 6, it was an immediate consensus YES by everyone; effortlessly.
Thus Vogue U is born.. Why Vogue U some may ask? Well, more on that in another post ya? :)
So, who are these 6 Vogue U babes? Most are familiar faces and familiar pen names in the Blogger world either as a blogger or a reader but we came with our own uniqueness.
Really the brainchild of Vogue U. Having her own blog name Otak Belacan, Nadh is a talented and expressive writer. Her tech-savvy skills shines in her creativity in her blog designs and her no nonsense to intolerable imbecile just makes her such a character with a zest! Her contributions in Vogue U would focus on organizing Vogue U activities and all operational management of the blog and whatever Vogue U expands to!
Blushwax
Some know her as Raf or by her pen name Blushwax. Previously a teacher with MOE (Ministry of Education) Raf balance her time now tutoring, blogging, homemaking and doing all other girly stuff with stride! Her intelligence provides knowledge not only in the education world but encourages healthy living and looking all good. A walking encyclopedia, gone are the days where we have to open those thick encyclopedias, we have a BABELICIOUS with BRAINS now! Her contribution on enriching knowledge + beauty tips will definitely be the talk of the town.
Its not just about shopping but SHOPPING SMARTLY – where are the best bargains of the highs and the lows of the brands and the heartlander? Her own blog called shopper-mama.blogspot.com has already given many great useful tips in the shopping land.. Now in Vogue U, she is unstoppable! Look out, she may just be in that latest store finding the latest discounts or even in your neighbouring local markets, bargaining that packet of taugeh! Now that's what you call PMS - Psychotic Mad Shopper. Are you?
Moralle
Her top notch cooking skills would keep readers drooling in front of their screens…Her “asam garam” knowledge does not only evolve around the kitchen but also her “asam garam” in life creates that magnificent FLAVOUR. Her personal blog moralle.blogspot.com about her everyday notion in life is now enhanced by her presence in Vogue U where she really blogs about her passion!
This is the HEART of Vogue U! LOVE, PASSION & COMPASSION… Her presence provides solace to readers who wants to find comfort, a shoulder to cry on, someone to make a laugh or perhaps a virtual friend to “talk” to of woes and issues, finding opinions or even just guidance in our everyday life. Simply said, Mak Pah provides the intangible “LOVE PILL” that makes readers find closure with VogueU. Previously a blog reader, Mak Pah takes a stab in blogging with Vogue U which we think will entice you in her every word!
Some may find her familiar in her past blogging life. Coming out of a sabatical break in blogging, Pearl is back with her forever-loved trademark, 'kawainess'! With her design background, she provides help and guidance to those looking for innovative solutions in space planning, interior woes, dealing with difficult suppliers and contractors and the design movement. Information on humanitarian works and motivational agendas mirrors VU’s motto -
It's about yoU, Us, United.
Vogue U is not about mindless material goods or competing my life is better than yours or condemning subjects blogging. Its about SHARING all of our knowledge & passion that we love and like to post with others in a positive possible way in all area which we hope would bring you in so much goodness, laughter and vouge-ness!
